The first step in your OHSAS 18001 project is to define and build an Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) according to the requirements of the OHSAS 18001 standard. You will be able to tailor it to work for your particular business while ensuring that you meet the requirements of OHSAS 18001.

We offer two types of workbooks:
- Implementation Workbooks for those who do not have any existing QMS or EMS:
- OHSAS 18001 by itself
- ISO 14001+OHSAS 18001 at the same time
- ISO 9001+ISO 14001+OHSAS 18001 at the same time.
- Section 1: The Preparation Phase - This section breaks down the preparation phase into 13 tasks that take you through step by step and help you prepare for the project by setting the stage for the implementation of your management system.
- Section 2: The Development Phase - This section of the workbook details instructions for the management representative (project leader) for tasks 14 through 23. For example and for the ISO 14001 EMS this section provides an understanding of the environmental aspects with their impacts, legal and other requirements, and health & safety programs and targets; and for the OHSAS 18001 OHSMS, it covers the identification of hazards, the assessment of risks associated with them and the determination of controls.
- Section 3: The Implementation and Registration Phase - For the remaining tasks 24 through 30, this section of the workbook includes the steps to complete the design, implementation and documentation of your management system.
- System Integration Workbooks for those implenting OHSAS 18001 in existing QMS/EMS:
- OHSAS 18001 into an existing ISO 14001
- OHSAS 18001 into an existing ISO 14001 and an existing ISO-9001 based QMS
- ISO 14001+OHSAS 18001 into an existing ISO-9001 based Quality system.
The Implementation Workbook Contents:
The implementation workbooks are divided into 3 sections and include detailed task checklists, explanations and exercises that cover the Preparation Phase, the Development Phase, and the Implementation and Registration Phase
The System Integration Workbook Contents:
The System Integration Workbooks divided into 3 sections and include detailed task worksheets, explanations and exercises that cover the Preliminary Steps to Integration, the Documentation Integration Steps, and the Implementation and Registration Steps.
- Section 1: The Preliminary Steps to Integration - This section breaks this down into 6 steps that help you prepare for the project by setting the stage for the implementation of your management system.
- Section 2: The Documentation Integration Steps - This section of the workbook includes the 2 steps required to complete the integration of documentation that is common to the standards being introduced and on the preparation and completion of the documentation required to cover the standard(s).
- Section 3: The Implementation and Registration Steps - This section of the workbook includes 5 steps that will complete the implementation of your management system and lead the project team through the internal audit and the management review in preparation for the all important registration audit.
